Schwarz Etienne presents the new versions of its model La Chaux-de-Fonds Tourbillon PSR

Schwarz Etienne, independent manufacturer of Haute Horlogerie, presents two new interpretations of its watch La Chaux-de-Fonds Tourbillon PSR (with retrograde small seconds): a steel model with a lapis lazuli dial and a model in gray gold with a dial in blue opal - two brilliant creations in keeping with the values of the house: authenticity, respect for the watchmaking tradition and the constant search for perfection.

Unveiled at Baselworld 2017, the Tourbillon PSR is a fascinating piece of mechanical watchmaking, a true work of kinetic art playing on volumes, the contrast of materials and colors. Its three-dimensional architecture, animated by the hypnotic ballet of the tourbillon, is complemented by the oscillations of the micro-rotor positioned on the dial side and the spectacular retrograde seconds feature that seems to literally oat above the movement. A display of decentralized hours and minutes at 4 o’clock, and the retrograde seconds bring us back to the dials in natural gemstones with a timer in luminescent material.

The self-winding movement of the TSE PSR 122.00 is developed and manufactured in-house, including its balance and spiral spring (manufactured with E2O, innovation sister company of Schwarz Etienne). Proof of unique craftmanship !

In an unusual way, the tourbillon turns counterclockwise – in fact the movement has been reversed. The construction of the small seconds is no less original. A spiral cam is mounted in a unique way directly on the shaft of the tourbillon, which performs a revolution per minute and makes it possible to follow the seconds by using a sensor. Every 60 seconds, the tip of the sensor drops, powered by a spring, which allows the retrograde seconds to return to zero.

The remarkable nishing touch re ects the attention to every detail and the high quality demands of the brand. Each one of the dec- orations has been selected and meticulously developed in order to optimize its depth and brilliance. The bridges have been chamfered by hand, sanded or decorated with “Côtes de Genève” stripes. The applied SE logo gives it the nishing touch.

For these new versions, the elegant round 44 mm diameter case is available in white gold with a blue opal dial in a superb pearly or steel shine and a lapis lazuli dial in an intense blue color. These gemstone dials give the Tourbillon PSR a remarkable brilliance. Their delicate manufacturing requires an extreme attention to detail as both the cutting and processing of these semiprecious stones requires skill and expertise. The back of the case is engraved with watchmaking patterns and it has an open tourbillon carriage.
